This is Dreaming I Am's second music video, produced and directed by yours truly, David Meyer. As a communications major at Washington State University in 1992, this was my final project. Shot in October/November 1992 and edited over Thanksgiving break. Tim Thomas, lead vocal and rythym guitar; Cale Hoopes lead guitar; Lloyd Brown, bass guitar; David Meyer, drums. The girl in the video I recall her name Danni, but last name I have forgotten. Danni, if you see this please email me (or comment) so I can properly credit you! The "mom" in the video was my next door neighbor. Flowers were donated by a local florist. Much of the video was shot at the Pullman cemetery; some was shot at my rental home at 1015 NW Fisk Street. The videos conclusion was supposed to have all the band members leaving in either a black limo or a hearse. I was unable to obtain either one of these for the shoot (I was just a poor college student at the time) so I substituted my own car, a 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS convertible. Because the video is sort of depressing it kinda works to have the band leave in this way, with smiles on their faces. I think of it as similar to when the Beatles added laughter to the end of George Harrisons song Within You, Without You to pick the mood back up. If I could do it over again I think a better ending would have been a fade to black over a high shot of the vacant drums and guitars lying in the grass and leaves (but I would have needed a crane for that shot!). Just puttin' around town in this great car. The video itself is nothing special, I just threw it together real quick. Quite a few of the early accelerations are roll ons. The fun one was at the end with a neck snapping 1st gear stomp and shift to 2nd. This beast just does not lay over at all and the video does not fully capture that. But...maybe it does if you watch how much the camera goes forward when Mike lets off the gas.... =D
